Anonymous asked: are you going to the beatles: the lost concert" movie when it comes out next month?
Probably not, I didn’t even know that there was such a movie. To tell the truth, I’m really not that biggest fan of the Beatles. Just not my thing, I guess.
Trying a couple new things here - particularly in the lineart which was done traditionally with a felt tip pen (called “Vellum Writer”, if that means anything to you) while the colours were done in Sai. I think this is a technique I will need to practice with but so far I am enjoying the feel of it.
For those who are curious, the “creatures” in this drawing were intended to draw on forms of balance, particularly when it comes to psychology. Since I have been learning more about psychology in a course I am taking at my school I thought it would be interesting to create a piece that embodies the Freudian Trio (or at least attempts to). From left to right we have the Id (emotional and physical desires, though I focused more on the emotional), the Ego (a balance between the Id and Superego), and final the Superego (the more intellectual and logically driven part of the brain, though I just made it look mildly peeved).
Crooked Smile.
Just a small experimental piece. It feels like I haven’t really been doing a lot of completed drawings lately, and part of the reason is because I’ve just become bogged down and uninterested in my regular process. Time to loosen up and have some fun again. C:
(admittedly, it’s always kind of awkward to draw myself since I am afraid I’ll end up making myself more attractive than I actually am)
Anonymous asked: you're beautiful.
First the “your face is my favourite face” ask and now this? Tumblr, are you flirting with me?
Figuring out proportioning and character design while sick probably isn’t a good way to spend my time.
As a customer service specialist (read: retail worker) I tend to see a lot of unsual people at my store.
The second part of a three part school project. C: This drawing (?) was completed using water soluble pencils using the prompt “a forgotten place”. I’ve never actually used water soluble pencils before I think it kind of shows. If I were to change anything I would probably have practiced a bit more before starting on the final project and I would have worked on the value in the sand. :/ It looks a bit too much like water. Oh, and I probably would have taped down my sides since, even with the weight of the paper I was using, it started to curl. A LOT.
Another drawing from this project can be found here as well. C:
Finally got this project back the other day and decided to get some more scanning done. The project was to choose from a list of prompts and produce three different pieces using at least two different mediums follwing said prompts. This one was “a suggestion of the sinister” and, if memory serves, was the highest grades piece in my project.
The other pieces included a still life that I likely will not be uploading since it was a last minute addition and isn’t really anything special, as well as a drawing done in water soluble pencils using the prompt “a forgotten place”.
